Yesterday, I friend of mine called me and asked me if I have any photos of 131 Abarth seats. People who know me also know that I have a pretty cool collection of photographs (200,000) of various cars. While I was going through my collection for photographs that would show the shoulder support, I realized, I do not have a lot of these. So I began surfing the Net. About 6:00 AM, I came across the Fiat Club's website and there was an announcement that there will be a car show in couple of hours in Duluth, GA which is only couple of miles away from where I live.

They had a registry list and I noticed that there was a 131 Abarth Volumetrico. I know about these cars and in fact after a brief investigation, I realized that I already have three photographs of this car. But the old flame sparkled again, so I charged my batteries took a shower and decided to go.

After I told my wife that I am going to an Italian car show, I promised her not to buy anything, specially knowing that there would be a lot of samples from the Prancing Horse Barn...

It was as always a festival for Alfisti as well as Tifosi. Since it was an Italian car show, there were also Maserati's, Lamborghini's, Pantera's, Lancia's and some bikes. But for some reason, I realized, I did not take a lot of pictures of those. Also, since I only had a couple of hours of recharging time for my batteries, they died pretty shortly.

Unfortunately Tim, the kind owner of this car, has parked his car under a partially shaded area. And it was about mid 80 degrees F and we had a really bright sun. I wish I had a better opportunity to photograph this car.

The car only has 4100 km and it looks brand new. Tim tells me this car was purchased in Rome, Georgia, then sold to Canada, transferred to California, and he bought it 1998 and brought it back home to Hotlanta. Tim tells me that this the only example of these cars in US and only 60 of them are produced. However, I am trying to confirm that there had only 52 produced, with about 20 never registered and directly sent to race tracks and also 1 original (this one) and 1 replica exists in US.

For people who are familiar with 131 Abarth but not with Volumetrico, it has a 2000/TC engine with a supercharger. For more specifications click here.

Here is a brief history of 131 Abarth Volumetrico.

I will recreate this website pretty soon; however, I wanted to share these photographs with my buddies as soon as possible.

All the Volumetrico photos are published courtesy of Tim Vaccaro.
